The Queerative Market at Queerport 2019

text & photos by Charles Champagne

On Saturday, June 22, 2019 Shreveport held it’s first ever queer arts festival, Queerport. Queerport is a queer-led arts event based out of Shreveport, La. The idea of this queer arts festival was to highlight the amazing LGBTQIA+ creative community in northwest Louisiana and surrounding areas. Queerport 2019 was held at Mincine?, a local DIY space, and served up a full day of activities featuring music, workshops, community building, shopping, and more.

LEUR partnered with Queerport to produce a pop-up of The Queerative Market, An Arts Market for Southern Queer Creatives, in order to showcase the creative talents of local queer artists and makers in and around Shreveport, Louisiana.
